LOCATION : Ranchi has a hilly topography and its combination with dense tropical forests ensures that it enjoys a comparatively moderate climate compared to the rest of the state.

Ranchi is home to a number of falls. There are more than 10 falls in and around the city which attract a number of tourists. The falls are also unique in themselves, making them distinct from rest of the falls outside the state. Some of the prominent are Jonha Falls, Hundru Falls and many more.

WEATHER : Ranchi has a sub-tropical climate. During summers (March to June), the maximum temperature observed is 37°C and a minimum of 20°C. Winters (November to February) are cool and have a maximum temperature of 22°C and a minimum of 2°C. Monsoons (July to September) offer average rainfalls.

In Ranchi, all festivals are celebrated with great pomp and show. People from far off places visit here to join these festivals. Some of these festivals are Jagannathpur Mela (summer season), Saraswathi Puja (October-November), Holi (February-March) and Diwali (October)

Best time to visit here is all through the year. Peak summer season may be avoided.
